„Menschenzentrierte KI“ : zu einer Leitkultur für Mensch und Maschine im Spannungsfeld zwischen Kultur, Politik und Wissenschaft

Zusammenfassung:

Humans before machines or human-centered AI are the normative guiding principles of digital technology development that dominate the political position papers in Europe in recent years. They are at the same time a political response to profound societal changes and testimony to a dilemma between desire for and discomfort with AI that is central to the European AI debate. Using a cultural-sociological perspective, this article examines the points of reference of this dilemma, which can be identified both in a specific foreignness of contemporary AI and in the intertwining of mythos and logos that is constitutive for AI as a research field. The guiding principle of human-centered AI is therefore part of a multitude of interpretations and discursive constructions, some of them historically persistent, which on the one hand are to be seen as a sense-making process in a world of rapid technological change, and on the other hand are deliberate acts of communication by influential actors. Future development will be decisively influenced by the question of whether, and if so, which AI myths will gain interpretive sovereignty.
